Frustrating Fedora Release Embargo

It’s really frustrating when you need to install some software but all the Fedora 11 release repositories go unreadable due to the release embargo. It’s hard to see the technical sense in it, because the F11 release was, I gather, already frozen before the embargo and F11-preview users still had access to the repositories.

Several days of not being able to install common software is annoying.

    edit /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo, comment out the first mirrorlist, and add this to the first section:
    baseurl=http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/fedora/linux/releases/11/Everything/i386/os/

    that’s a working mirror.
